Lake Erie College's Systems Portfolio is a comprehensive snapshot of how effective LEC is in helping students succeed. AQIP institutions assemble a Systems Portfolio every four years, answer questions under nine AQIP characteristics, while providing evidence in each category to determine if they produce results for student success and whether the college uses the results to make improvements.  The Systems Portfolio is one piece of Lake Erie College's reaccreditation through the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP). 

The Systems Portfolio is designed to present an overview of our institution that explains the major processes, programs, and services we use to continuously improve.  Each AQIP Category deals with a related group of processes, and allows an institution to analyze, understand, and explore each of the nine categories: Helping Students Learn, Accomplishing Other Distinctive Objectives, Understanding Students' and Other Stakeholders' Needs, Valuing People, Leading and Communicating, Supporting Institutional Operations, Measuring Effectiveness, Planning Continuous Improvement, and Building Collaborative Relationships.

 

In 2008, the Systems Portfolio was submitted to the Higher Learning Commission who assigned outside readers to review the document and send a feedback report to the college. The Systems Appraisal Feedback Report, received in March 2009, identified strengths and opportunities for improvement.   The next Systems Portfolio is due to the HLC November 2012.
