Academic Advising

New Freshmen

All new freshmen will meet individually with faculty members to finalize their fall semester course schedules during freshman orientation. Those students who have declared a major upon enrolling at Lake Erie College will automatically be assigned to a faculty advisor within their area of study. Each student is required to meet with his or her advisor every semester for schedule clearance prior to registering for courses in the upcoming term. A staff member from the Office of Academic Advising, or a designated faculty member, will assist exploratory students with the course selection process until a major has been declared. For more information, please contact Dr. Brent Robinson, Director of Academic Advising and the Academic Learning Center, at 440.375.7111 or at brobinson@lec.edu.

New Transfer Students

Transfer students are provided with a degree audit based on the evaluation of transfer credits. A student who has transferred to Lake Erie College will receive a copy of his or her transfer credit evaluation soon after being admitted. The student should review this evaluation immediately to be certain that all credits earned at other colleges and universities have been considered. It is the student's responsibility to send to the Lake Erie College Registrar's Office an updated copy of any transcript listing credits that were not completed at the time of the student's original transcript evaluation. The degree audit serves as a plan for degree completion. Transfer students will complete their initial selection of classes during their first meeting with a member from the Office of Academic Advising, and will be assigned a faculty advisor in their field of study early in the semester to assist in future course selection. For additional information, please contact Sunni Gothard, Associate Registrar, at 440.375.7012 or at sgothard@lec.edu.

Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)

Dean of the School of Business Robert Trebar or Donna Bares, Director of the Parker M.B.A. Program, meet with all MBA students. During this meeting, you will work together to build a specific program of courses that will meet your needs as both a professional and a student. You may contact Dean Trebar at 440.375.7115 or rtrebar@lec.edu or Donna Bares at 440.375.7075 or dbares@lec.edu.
