Who We Are:
Our office has many responsibilities - best summed up by the word engagement! We actively cultivate new relationships with alumni and other key constituents of the College and we plan and orchestrate all alumni events and programs (homecoming, reunions, special events) and all College events.The director serves as the liaison between the National Alumni Board and the College and serves as the contact person for all alumni, parents and community members concerning the College. The director also represents the College on several community organizations and deploys volunteers throughout the community to advance the College’s mission and vision. In addition, the office oversees all rental inquiries, contracts, facility use and outside activities (camps, weddings, conferences).The Lake Erie College Ambassador Program is run through this office, as well as the WOW Program.

Deb is a 1974 graduate of Lake Erie College. She has been involved in the life of the College since she graduated. Deb has served on the Mathews House Committee, was president of the National Alumni Board, served as member of the Board of Trustees and taught communication classes as an adjunct instructor. Her children, Sara and Adam, are both alumni of Lake Erie. She is the advisor for the Ambassador program and the International Club, and she represents the College in several community organizations.
Deb works directly with the President and Vice President of Institutional Advancement, planning alumni events and trips, alumni weekend and special alumni programs. She is also the primary liaison to the National Alumni Board.
Favorite Spot on Campus
Wherever our students are engaged in the life of the College: Morley Music Hall, the Holden Center, the College Green, the Osborne Athletic and Wellness Center/Recreation Park, The Royce Hall of Fine and Performing Arts, the equestrian arena or all the receptions at the Victor Manor! Wherever I can share in the history and traditions of our College.

Kathryn Staats serves as the communications liaison to campus constituents, external vendors, the media and the National Alumni Board. Staats joined Lake Erie College as a graduate assistant in 2009 and then became public relations specialist. She currently responds to media requests, writes and distributes press releases and spotlight stories and carries out other duties such as advertising purchasing. Staats is lead editor of the College’s e-newsletter, "The View from Public Relations.” She also oversees the Young Alumni and Master of Business Administration Alumni programs, hosting and assisting with events and reporting to the director of alumni & community relations.
Staats holds a bachelor of science with majors in business administration and marketing and a master of business administration from Lake Erie College.

Marco Gaudio

Marco, a native of Cambridge, England, joined the alumni team this summer after graduating from Lake Erie in May. He will be with the department while pursuing his MBA at the College.
Marco is a former member and coach for the Storm soccer team, and is currently a coach for the Mentor Soccer Club. Marco assists in all areas of alumni relations, with special emphasis on athletic alumni events. He also maintains our alumni Twitter account and co-authors the alumni Facebook page.

Anywhere on campus - I absolutely love everything about Lake Erie College! With the comfortable feeling of home all around campus, you can’t seem to not love everything!
