Shotzy's sire, Tannenberg, was imported in 1979 by Galten farms in Ontario, Canada. Prior to his importation, he was the Reserve Champion at the 1968 Neumunster approvals. He stood at various farms in the US during before being retired from breeding in 1992.

Schotzy foaled a bay colt, "Goober",  by Absolut on March,2000.
