How Do I Apply to Lake Erie College?

  • Fill out the online application at: www.lec.edu
    • Be sure to identify yourself as a veteran; your application fee will be waived.
  • Request official transcripts from your high school and all colleges you attended.
    • Official transcripts are those which are delivered in a sealed, letterhead envelope. They can be mailed or hand delivered.
  • Request military transcripts through Joint Service Transcript (for Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard) or CCAF Transcript (for Air Force).
  • Apply for GI Bill education benefits at www.vets.gov or www.ebenefits.va.gov.
  • You will receive a certificate of eligibility from the VA.
    • Use VA Form 22-1990 if you are a first-time student.
    • Use VA Form 22-1995 if you are requesting a change of program or institution.
    • Use VA Form 22-5490 if you are a dependent.
    • Use VA Form 22-5495 if you are a dependent requesting a change of program or institution.
  • Submit these documents to the School Certifying Official in the Financial Aid office.
  • Fill out the FAFSA for any additional financial aid, such as grants or loans, for which you may be eligible.
