Lake Erie College’s Dr. Katharine Delavan, associate professor of early childhood education, will be among the presenters at the Ohio Confederation of Teacher Education Organizations (OCTEO) Fall 2015 Conference, set to take place from Oct. 28-30 in Dublin, Ohio. The theme of the conference is "Lead to Succeed: Innovations in Teacher Education.”
Titled "Innovative Teaching Strategies to Prepare 21st Century Pre-Service Candidates to Succeed in the Real World,” Delavan’s presentation will provide pre-service instructors and professors with a set of teaching strategies that encourage engagement in class and with course assignments. These strategies provide modeling for pre-service teachers to use in their future classrooms, with the primary goal of improving retention and overall performance at the pre-service and in-service levels.
The OCTEO is a non-profit, statewide umbrella organization comprised of five Ohio-based teacher education organizations. To learn more about the conference, visit http://www.ohioteachered.org/conferences.php, or contact Dr. Delavan at firstname.lastname@example.org.Back To News
